I do not vouch for anybody.  But I can confirm that a transaction did take place between Mark and I, and it was executed with swiftness and dispatch by both parties.  Kids, don't try this at home.  Adult professionals undergo long training in order to behave in this unusual way.

Please Jose, I did not mean that as harsh as it sounds. It's just natural after someone beats you to want to play them again and do better for your own ego. I liked the good natured bantering, it adds more excitement IMO, but sometimes I forget that not everyone here is from America where this practice is very widespread.

for my part I will totally refrain from the prize money. This tournament is mostly about chess fun and trying out openings to me and I
don't want my factor of enjoying go down by such material values.

Hello Guys!

A Very Happy New Year to you all.
What is all this going on? lol, I checked in after some time and noticed that things changed drastically.
I never played for a PRIZE and I will never play for a PRIZE.
My biggest PRIZE is that I met new people from across the globe, very very talented people from whom i learnt many things :)
I would vote for all WBCCC to be Prizeless :)

Well, for short, TheHug's sponsors let him down, so he had to work very hard to try to earn that money, but that caused his back to be damaged. Then Paul sent him money to pay the prizes in part, and this money mysteriously disappeared :eek:

Anyway, Kamesh, I've been waiting for your move in our game since November! :yell:

These are some tense times for WBCCC and Jimmy is getting bombarded with questions. I only wish Jimmy had been brave enough and explained the prize money problem when the sponsors had backed out.

Yeah, i understand as to what happened.  But, am least bothered as money was never an issue for me.  I made some great friends, and that friendship cannot be measured :)
