Or has the hit counts on pages disappeared?
Oh, wow, I'd have never noticed!
I wonder if the information is just hidden, or if the page views are no longer recorded.
This is a big issue on other forums, they even have a special column dedicated to saying how many views a thread has (besides the "Posts" columns), so I find it odd.

[edit] I've said too much already on this topic.
I think there was a very high correlation between views and posts, anyway.
Also when I ran that ran match on the main forum- (I'm sure you remember that one) Stockfish that ended up having a GUI issue. That drew an interest of , I believe over 5 thousand . The matches can be of great interest or of little interest if any at all.
I don't really care, if I cannot see where I stand I'll just close down. I'm not going to waste my time on guess work. 12 to 14hrs of time per match is too much computer time if no one has a shared interest. I'll see how it goes. Until then I'm good.

Arrière, your matches are going to get the same interest regardless of if you know what interest it is or not. Cancelling them because you'll no longer know how many hits your threads are getting seem silly to me, unless you're doing the matches for the wrong reasons.
Look, when you tie up your computer for a full 24 hours- day after day - it helps to know that others appreciate what your doing.
I don't have a TV to get caught up in while the games are running. I'm stuck with whatever book I'm reading at the time and there is just so much reading I'm willing to do. If after I've come to the conclusion that the engine is a dead beat- or on par with the engine it is running against. I'm pulling the plug. It is just psychological man. If, however, I see something is going on in the games of course -I'll keep it going- but only up to a certain point and then it's measurement time again.

I think the general concept is a good one. There is always an except to everything -nothing is perfect. I just wanted to make a point that is all. Beyond the running matches -I have no issues with it.
Why friend? Was it to much to handle? Can you implement anything else? Maybe who is observing the thread or something.
> Why
This is something that was removed in the latest version of the forum software.
> Was it to much to handle?
It requires a database update every time someone views a topic/post so it's an additional load on the server for something that is of little relevance to the discussions that are taking place. The discussions themselves are what's important.
I agree with what Uly says above and I don't think this is critical information due to the correlation between views and number of posts.
> Can you implement anything else? Maybe who is observing the thread or something.
Knowing who is currently viewing a topic is useless information in my view. OTOH I could add a "Thanks" plugin if there is demand.
I still have to say I like the counts. But I can go with the flow!.
Yeah, I'd rather have them back than having a Thanks system around. I have flashbacks from the future from people cancelling their projects because they didn't get enough Thanks
can you post an url for a specific post? I get some strange tings <no misspelling>

using the "answer" button and typing in the number as pid in the current address

why not.
Just noticed myself. Guess we'll just have to guess at the counts now.
