This was the position on Board 1 after about 4 hours of play.
Now the little Russian girl Anna Vasenina played 60. Nf4 and after 60... Rxg3+ the game was a draw. All the engines, I've tried show white winning here but won't show the winning line. Is it winable for white? And if so what is the plan to win?

This is a simple win. The simplest winning plan is this: Attack f5 with rook and knight. Black will have to defend the pawn with rook and king. Then put your king on h3 and take on f5 twice to reach a winning pawn endgame.
I guess the quickest way to win starts with 60. Ne7.

Well this is a pleasant surprise
, I remember you in team matches on the forum. Glad to see you around, lots of things are different around here now since you left.

Thanks. I did follow some of the things which went on here recently, especially the WBCCC (I tried to avoid the other stuff). Nice tournament; I am impressed by how many of you managed to hold on to the finish.
Did you have one game that stood out? I think form a human point of view this was probably the best game.

I loved the queen sac in this game.

Very tough question. I didn't follow the tournament and the games sufficiently closely to answer it. By the way, was there a brilliancy prize? I think it would be a good idea to award one (in the upcoming tournament).
Yes there will be some type of award for next year. I got chesspublishing.com on board to help me look and analysis games by so of there top players.
Hey Kappatoo, welcome back! I hope that now that moderation no longer deletes whole threads and free speech is preserved that you stick around!
Hi Uly, thanks. It seems that thehug is in charge now, do I have this right? Let's hope for the best then.
Thank you for that Kappatoo and sorry for the delay in replying. I had to try out your plan against various engines for a few days until I fully understood it. Engines prefer to let white have the pawn so that they can keep the rook and hassle white's king. In this scenario, there is probably some technique to shepherd the pawn up to the queening square. I'll just have to look it up in the endgames manual. At any rate, thanks for the insight. I wish, I could think like that!
That match was the crunch game, as it turned out, with black going on to win the world championship by half a point and white coming second. One move at the end of a hard slog sealed their fates. That's chess!

Yes, sure, black can just give up the pawn instead. But then, assisted by rook, knight and king, the white pawn will promote easily. You could try to win such a position against an engine to get a feel for it.
Chess can be cruel. The moment in which white saw the stalemate must have been terrible.
