I'm with you on this game Mark.
Thanks Uly.

Hm, seems a TurboGeorge vs. VytronMark match is unlikely now with all this peaceful talk? :-)
Anyways: Mark, to me the game is deeply (mate to be delivered in around 50 moves) won by white(=me) in case you play 40....Rbb8 now, but maybe you will surprise me with something unexpected...

Our cheerleaders/supporters/friends&followers and i'm are waiting for your move Mark...
> Our cheerleaders/supporters/friends&followers and i
Please don't include me in there Turbo, I am patient and hope Mark takes as much times as he needs for his move.
Gosh, I hope I never have to play you.
Ok, then no cheerleaders... Well, i'm not impatient (is it too much to ask for two moves a week in average?) but just trying to remind and motivate my opponent! :-)
And i just hope that you don't turn this game-thread into yet another Mandelbrot-discussion or similar stuff... thanks for your kind understanding. And yes, you already stated that you don't want to play me, thats fine... ;-)

> is it too much to ask for two moves a week in average?
No, that's fine. What I find wrong is demanding such moves, either play with a clock, or you're just bugging your opponent unnecessarily. At least in Rybka Forum it's not uncommon for people to take long in their moves, I've had opponents that have taken two months to make one move, and I've done it myself, and that's fine when the game has no clocks.
I think Mark is playing as fast as he can, and dislike when you're pressuring him to move sooner, I find it rude.
Hi Uly, thank you for your support.
Good luck Mark, I hope you manage to draw the game. I may dislike Turbo's behavior but I have to respect her strength.
Well, not giving up and/or not moving in a lost game is just a disrespectful sign of poor sportmanship if you ask me... this forum would be obsolete when everyone would behave in such way. Funny is that YOU ranted at me "What happend to our games? looks like you have abandoned them?" (http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?pid=341968#pid341968) despite that it was your move in both of our games, but had yourself no problem taking one to two weeks for your moves and now you are even providing thin-skinned "motivation"-excuses instead of permitting that i have simply outplayed you... well...
> Well, not giving up and/or not moving in a lost game
Hi Turbo, it seems you've solved this game to a white win, out of curiosity, can you show the shortest win and tell how many moves you need to mate? Please answer truthfully, I'd expect you'd not know and thus, use it as proof that you aren't certain the game is lost for black.
>sign of poor sportmanship
It's not, for that, look in a mirror.
This game doesn't have a clock, Mark could make a move per year and it would be fine, so next time start a game with clocks or don't complain.
Yes Uly, this is for sure a win for white, i will show you the exact move-order when you persuade Mark to continue this game.
And no Uly, one move per year is not really tolerable considering that Mark is online here each day in this forum, and having no clock shouldn't be an excuse for such delays of the games.
And no Uly, one move per year is not really tolerable considering that Mark is online here each day in this forum, and having no clock shouldn't be an excuse for such delays of the games.
Did you agree to play a move in some time in average? No. Without that, you can't demand moves from Mark to be played within some time range, you had to state that when the game started, now it's too late.
This is something common that happens in Rybka Forum, for instance, I've been waiting for Jonas to make a move since December 2009 in this game, and have been waiting for Rowlando to make his move on this game since January 2010, but nothing gives me the right to demand a move from them, regardless of the status of the game, because the games started without clocks.
Again, if you want to avoid that, put clocks in the game, without them you have no reasons to complain and have no right to call a game won, since you can only claim victory if Mark resigns or he's checkmated, but claiming that his flag fell is something you can't do.
I'm going to do the opposite and persuade Mark to forget about the game, I don't think it's worth his time after what you've done, and if in some book of yours this game appears as 1-0, that doesn't matter as everyone else will know that's false. But that's Mark's decision, I can't really influence it.

Uly, after a few forced moves (black's next two are already such ones) this game reaches +8.00 evals with Stockfish 2.1.1 and Rybka 2.3.2a within the next 55 half-moves - absolutely a waste of time to analyze it down to mate, IT IS won for white, no doubt about it... white will collect the a-pawn, the king can march over the whole board while blacks bishop+king are stuck in the corner, white then can exchange on e7 collecting another pawn and one of the own center pawns will promote to deliver mate... easy stuff for an unassisted engine now, no(t too much) human input needed anymore.
Mark also knows its won for white, that's why he stopped moving. And judgeing your "examples" you seem to have overread that Mark a) is still posting in this thread, b) is aware that it is his move but has c) already declared that he won't move here anymore due lack of motivation, which is clearly the same as resigning.
And if you let me add in general: no rules/clock shouldn't mean to switch of common human-behaviour&thinking alltogether like you want to propagate here "persuade Mark to forget about the game", even without rules/clock its self-evident that Mark, who again is posting here and aware its his move, is posting a move from time to time...
But no let's not waste our times any longer, we will wait and see what happens... :-), in the meantime i will celebrate a little of course ;-)...

No, it's not, specially if it was you who killed his motivation with your lack of sportsmanship.
I cannot see any post were i said i won't make any more moves. I see your using stockfish with its wild scores one minute showing white wins and the next showing black this gives me more hope? (by the way with all this flurry of posts you may have missed my move played yesterday). Also i will have to play human moves untill my computer is returned from Scan. If and when i see white is won i will resign like i have done in all my lost games on this forum.
There is nothing like a bit of needle to get me motivated, i look forward to our return game with me having the white pieces (IF YOUR UP FOR IT?). I will of course take great pleasure in crushing you.

Hi Mark,
i have to apology for my yesterday's posts, you indeed moved finally :-)... well, reading about that you "lost all my motivation in this game" i interpreted this that we wont see here any more action and therefore was pretty disappointed. There is no reason to play "human moves", i will wait of course until your 12-core is ready again (but having read that you own several high-end computers & -engines i'm sure you can find suitable compensation in calculation-power anyways & anytime).
Besides that, you already got your game with the white-pieces and whimped for a draw on move 15 because black was already better:

Have fun and enjoy your time,
Turbo / Betty

Sorry your wrong on this one, i have only ever owned 1 computer at a time and that is at Scan, i am currently using my wifes low powered single core laptop for internet access only.
I made a mistake when i posted that and as you can see i said sorry at the time.
I know it's still my move but i offer a draw. Sorry but i have lost all motivation in this match.
Mark,
i would have expected here a "i give up do my hopeless position" as the game is deeply won by white/me (we're speaking here about +3.00 evals neartearm and +8.00 midterm), not "i offer a draw"... therefore i regard it as won until black proves (by moving) its not - which is impossible anyways. If you don't want to move anymore thats fine for me as there is no good reason playing out a won game in a one_move/month-pace... anyone with an engine and a little time can see its won for white/me anyways.
Thanks for the game (till here) and enjoy your time and have fun,
Best wishes,
Turbo / Betty

Oh, it's clear that the Correspondence Chess subforum here is more a starting and/or experimental place for further approaches! ;-)... i had especially -if i remember correctly- your run for the British Championship in mind, and i also hope you will play WBCCC II...
Last year i did quite well finishing third.
Nice. :-)
I was only half a point from winning.
