I don't get it Robert, if I make a statement here that someone doesn't like, is the next step for the mods to check my IP?  And Harvey was one of the three secretariat (or whatever it's called) of ICGA?  He was one of the guys in charge of the investigation?   Like I said, I hope they were talking about something else, but their discussion was right below my post.
Parent - - By TheHug (Bronze) [us] Date 2011-08-03 05:54
Friend we are not checking your IP, I can tell you that.
Parent - - By Homayoun_Sohrabi_M.D. (***) [us] Date 2011-08-03 06:00
Thank you Hug.  I am not worried about my IP number.   It just unsettled me that after I make a small criticism, Harvey wants to check my IP number.   Anyways, thank you for your post "Hug".

Harvey is not a mod here and even tho I'm a mod, I don't have that power. Only one person that I know of can, but he is the person who runs this forum.

Dadi caught Harry?
Parent - - By TheHug (Bronze) [us] Date 2011-08-03 06:14
Felix and his brother help make/maintenance the regular rybka site. Dadi is the one that runs this site. He helps make whatever changes are needs, he is the one that bans people etc..
Parent - By Arrière Pensée (Gold) Date 2011-08-03 06:13
Dadi caught Harry? Are you sure because I was sure it was Felix who caught Harry's IP.
Parent - - By Arrière Pensée (Gold) Date 2011-08-03 05:56
No one is going to check your ip least of all those characters-they don't have access to your ip.
Parent - - By Homayoun_Sohrabi_M.D. (***) [us] Date 2011-08-03 06:32
Robert, I wonder if there were any other people on that so called panel who didn't even know about it.   You found two so far.
Parent - - By Arrière Pensée (Gold) Date 2011-08-03 07:23
Well there were I think 34 people and I believe only a very small fraction voted. I'm not going to get into the  Chris W.  issue with you again-  Harvey played the game of " I don't know who you are" with Chris and  I'll bet   none of the other  34  had to go through anything near what he was put Chris through. Honestly, to the contrary I would not believe anything Harvey told me at this point. .He has proven himself to be a bold face manipulative liar.
Parent - - By Homayoun_Sohrabi_M.D. (***) [us] Date 2011-08-03 07:45
I wonder if you have the time and a way of contacting some other people on the so called panel who abstained from voting.  I'd be curious to see if they at least knew they were on the panel and what their impressions were.   Hopefully, ICGA will learn some lessons here and try to form its future panels with a little better and tighter organization.

I may end up having to apologize to your Chris W.   Perhaps they did not want him on the panel for other reasons.   I mean, like I told you, it really unsettled me when I suddenly saw Mr Williamson telling the mods to look up my IP address.

> I wonder if you have the time and a way of contacting some other people on the so called panel who abstained from voting.

I think this may go a little deeper than just abstaining from voting

> Hopefully, ICGA will learn some lessons here and try to form its future panels with a little better and tighter organization.

I have my own ideas about that.

> I may end up having to apologize to your Chris W.   Perhaps they did not want him on the panel for other reasons.

Of course not - This is what I've learned about Chris W. He has a history of asking way too many questions-  to these guys he's radical in that  he won't side with anyone particular group and only has allegiance in what he finds  in the truth. He's not going to be anyone's puppet.

My verdict is also ready. You appear from what and how you say it like someone like Fabien L. who came after a break of 6 years and played naivety when asking "and what happened next, what did he say etc." Youre just a fake. There is no such nedical docror with your name and who is likewise interested in computerchess and understands the background in 2 weeks and calls everybody by their nicknames.

Morning George, nice to hear from you.

I just sent my home phone via PM to Mr Williamson, nobody else.  I can always change it later if needed.

Look George, I think what happened maybe this:  these guys are convicting a 4 time or 5 time, whatever it is, world champion, and I think they went overboard in the sense of trying to say that everything was "unanimous", everybody was on the same page, nobody thought he was innocent...you know what I mean...they tried to just go over the top a little bit.   Well, Vas may still be guilty, but certainly there were two guys on that so called panel who didn't even know they were there and one thought the whole thing was rubbish.   No one knows how actively the other 32 so called panel members participated.    Then you have 14 guys cast a guilty vote, but 7 are the original plaintifs, so you have 7 true guilty votes out of a total of 27 (34 - 7), that's only about 25% guilty vote.

Again, I am not talking about whether Vas is guilty or not.   I am not smart enough to understand the technical details.   Neither am I saying that Bob and Harvey are fascists.  Vas also had plenty of chances to defend himself.  I am talking about the process, and I am saying that the process was flawed.   If at least 2 people on your so called panel say that they didn't even know they were on the panel, then that signals a flaw!

Now instead of getting upset at me and trying to look up my IP number, the rational thing would be to try to improve the process in future investigations, make sure everybody knows where they are and what they are supposed to do.

Thanks for reading my rant.
Parent - By George Speight (***) Date 2011-08-03 09:24
Dr- As I see you have mentioned it twice, with no reply- Vas did not defend himself with this group BECAUSE TO DO SO would have given credence to the panel. Which he did not. I could give you another interesting angle, but on open forum, nah!

Parent - By AWRIST (****) Date 2011-08-03 10:54
Are you crazy or just mad? You should know this better than mot people if your title is at least not a lie. Nobody in this forum ever said, that these two were fascists. They are both full of respected intentions. Problem is something else, perhaps tis is something a bit too difficult for you to understand.

It's a trivial horizon effect in our thoughts, seldom we do thinks things through to their potential ends. Sometimes the outlook seems fsavorable for our goals, so we wont correct our activities. Only if we can see negative ends for ourself, then we change something.

But there is another aspect. I for one knew right from the beginning in 2006 that the evil message of Theron could onlx been wrong. Not because Vas is an angel but because Theron with 100% had no proof for his theory. So that was pure hatred and envy. And that is something that should not be tolerated. If someone had doubts he should call for a survey at the right place and that is the ICGA. But that wasnt done. Instead we had the unethical scapegoating over 6 years. That that is wrong and unallowed is something a kid could already understand.

Nozr well that Bob Hyatt was alwayxs present. More, since he had his very private frustration to work through because allegedly Vas had been unthankful to Bob when he went commercial, Bob led the campaign of hate. Without any evidence at all.

Even now he has no evidence in a legal sense.

Let me explain.

I give you an example in history. We in Europe have a murder case among royalties. You can find the details in google if you search for Kaspar Hauser. When he was young he was kept in hidden cellars of water castles, but they didnt do more than feed him with bread and water. He was kept in a space that didnt allow that he stood straight, he had no docil contacts. The warden entered his room only when he was asleep. The whole thing happened because he had been announce dead as a baby because he stood against the egotist intentions of a specific family who wanted getting into power themselves. When he was 18 they sat him free. He hadnt seen the light except some minor shadows. He was a medical singularity. For years teachers and doctors analysed him and he developped astonishing talents. Even his mother came secretely to watch him, she fell into sleep in a shock. So theories appeared that he were the alleged dead heir of the throne in Baden in the Southwest of Germany. The history continues that because all this could have come out, an English spy, a Lord, stabbed him with a knife. A deadly wound at the time 200 years ago.

Chapter two: His cloths, also underwear with the holes and the blood are kept in a museum at Ansbach, his site of death. So, investigations were done with DNA traces. I leave out all the details because for our case it is only important that

-- you must know if the blood is from this person and not from an animal

-- you must have identity of at least one further person who is a relative

The royalties didnt cooperate. Until now it couldnt been proven but it couldndt also been refutated that he was the Prince of Baden.

Let me now compare this to our case with Vas and the ICG and King Bob.

The DNA of a cheating the rules is partially proven but to understand how the rules are respected we must know if other commercial competitors do respect them. Here the others are not cooperative and more, the investigators are not interested.

What did they research at all? Had they alien animal blood progs? The code unethical Olivier Deville gave then, was he  a serious entity or just experimental. It wasnt defined to be distributed. Nor meant for championships. The CCT, Paderborn, Leiden, Chesswars, all this are fun but no championships. All this is relevant for a legal issue. Meaning here we dont have valid evidence as a principle. So it is all about character assassination in public. That is very expensive as a hobby, folks.

So, what we have is really looking unpleasent. We have something at the surface and we have prejudices. And we have egomnical people who all think that only they had the mastership to define the truth. That is a delusion.

I guess it goes back to the best that can be stated in a court of law: 14 out of 34, or 41%, thought he was guilty.  Much as many people might like to say otherwise, this is the only number that one can state with high confidence.
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2011-08-04 13:25
+ 100% of the 5 members of the ICGA board who actually made the decision.

your figure above has to also make it clear that no one voted against. people get elected to office with less than that % of a vote.
Parent - - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) [us] Date 2011-08-04 18:40

> + 100% of the 5 members of the ICGA board who actually made the decision.

Which I'm sure had quite a lot to do with the result of those who voted.

> your figure above has to also make it clear that no one voted against.

Judging from recent news, it seems that it is more true than previously believed that those who didn't vote/didn't care would have voted against.  The percentage to which that's true remains to be seen.  One could make a case that 20 out of 34 had contempt for the whole affair.

> people get elected to office with less than that % of a vote.

This isn't an election.
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2011-08-04 18:49

> that those who didn't vote/didn't care would have voted against.

LOL try that one on a judge. You have no idea how the others would have voted.
Parent - - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) [us] Date 2011-08-04 21:55
I wouldn't try that one with a judge because any judge simply wouldn't accept the statement of 100% from the committee because of exactly the reason that I mentioned combined with the data of the non-voters having contempt for the entire affair.
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2011-08-05 02:33
what data?
Parent - - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) [us] Date 2011-08-08 14:06
The fact that Silver and Friedel don't agree with the verdict, and Ed has major issues as well.
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2011-08-08 14:15
You have no idea what Fred thinks Albert's comment is just hearsay and i suspect if you ask fred the answer will be no coment. Did Albert say how he would have voted? if he was not really on the panel then his vote counts for 0 anyway just like yours. I could post here that I have spoken to all those that did not vote and say they all would have voted yes but again that is just hearsay. I have spoken to some of them and nobody has told me they even considered voting no.

I do not think ed has ever said he would have voted no.
Parent - - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) [us] Date 2011-08-08 19:25
I think that "reading between the lines", we can see how they both would have voted if a requirement of having the names included was a vote.

Dear Mr Williamson,

I did a search and it seems like you guys are referring to someone by the name of Chimnay Kulkarni, or something like that, well I am not him/her.  How dare you suggest that my IP address be checked just because I made a small criticism of your panel?  Can I assume that you have an extremely low threshold for criticism?   If you have a criticism of me or something I say, then do it.  Be a man and criticize me all you want, but you don't have to dig into my private information, do you?  I did send you my home phone number in Visalia, California, via a PM just to rest your paranoid mind.

You are one of the secretariat of the ICGA, the suggestion coming from you of all people, that my IP address should be investigated (just because I made a small criticism) is highly inappropiate.   If I were a vindictive person, I would send a registered letter to Mr. Levy with a formal complaint about you.   I am not Kulkarni, and I am not Vas, I can defend myself, and I will crush you if you try to dig into my personal private information.

By the way, you never answered my specific questions about your so called panel, but that's ok, as you  can imagine, I have already formed my own conclusions.   Best Regards.
Parent - - By George Speight (***) Date 2011-08-03 04:36
Easy answer, Dr. I told you the more you found out, the more crooked and useless this panel would become. So Friedel had one look and was not interested in any of it. That must be like a kick in the ass to you, Harvey. And there will be more kicks, as God is my witness.

Nobody suggested that Fred has a problem with it.  It doesn't matter what he discussed or not with your colleague.   He DID NOT know that he was part of your panel.   Anyways, we are going in a circle, so that's all I have to say about it.   Thanks.
Parent - - By George Speight (***) Date 2011-08-03 09:30
Dr., you see Harvey mentioned that Friedel and Lefler were together in Hamburg recently, and did not bring the topic of the panel up. Should that be a surprise as Friedel didn't and doesn't give enough of a shit about the stupid panel to even mention it.

How are you this morning?  I have only seen a couple of posts from you so far today, are you not firing on all cylinders?  Do you need a shot of Starbucks buddy?

I am done talking about the other stuff.   I got this guy Rolf keeps telling me I am a fake.  Then I got the ICGA secretary, Mr Williamson, doubting my identity too, calling me Chimney and wants to check my IP number.   But I'll keep reading you all's posts with interest if I get a chance.   All the best.

I told you "The ICGA tournaments are for _programmers_ (authors).  The ICGA was formed by programmers, in Toronto, 1977."  I was there.  Many non-programmers join the ICGA itself, to get copies of the journal and attend the technical presentations they host.  But programmers make the rules for the tournament, because they are the only ones allowed to participate.  You can't buy a copy of a commercial program and enter it in any ICGA event.
