okay, next move by you will probably take you a while... so i better move now, because it may distract you in the WBCCC.

I'll try to convert this advantage into an advantage there

No distractions, I'll probably slow down (more?), but my level of play will remain the same (unless this new approach turns out to be garbage ).

uly, sorry, this will take some time. i haven't spent even 1 minute looking at this position, so don't worry, i'm not using this time unfairly.

i have been busy and now my baby was born. lot's of things to take care of. i'll get this back to this asap.. (i'm sure i'll have time during the sleepless nights!!)

ty

so far things are flying... i can't believe she's almost 4 days old. thankfully mother-in-law flew in from europe.. so i can go back to work (not paid leave).

life is wierd now. before a month was divided into weeks, weeks into days, and days into 8 hour chunks (sleep, work, life). now, there is no such things as thinking in weeks and months.. just the present moment. things are divided into 3 hour blocks.. 1hour to feed and change diaper, and 2 hours when she's sleeping and i can take care of my needs.

i think my fave moments will start when she's a year old. although, i must admit, this is a wonderful, life-altering, character-changing experience

Some of the best moments are when they first start walking and talking. After that you wish they would sit down and stay quiet.
Parent - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2011-04-20 20:22
Parents will never be happy, no matter what. Case in point:

My sister and me were quiet and would sit down. Out of the box, we weren't the kind of kids that you'd find yelling and running around the house, but the contrary. Was our mother happy? No, she found it odd, and would have liked if we were more active kids, go figure!

Thanks again for your patience tomski, I have taken more than 2 months for this move and believe that White is probably lost with perfect Black play, so my only hope is to reach a position where Black has a hard time finding the winning moves, or where they're hard to distinguish from drawing ones.

After analyzing this game almost daily since you moved, I've found winning plans against all White defenses for 32.Ne2?! (and, well, all other white attempts...), so I'll go with this one:

1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 3. Nf3 g5 4. Nc3 Bg7 5. d4 g4 6. Bxf4 gxf3 7. Qxf3 d6 8. Bb5+ c6 9. Bc4 Qh4+ 10. g3 Bg4 11. Qf2 Qh5 12. h3 Ne7 13. Bxd6 Be6 14. g4 Qg5 15. Be2 Nd7 16. Rd1 Nb6 17. O-O Nc4 18. Well good job with WBCCC 1 you finished with 10 draws. (0-0-10) I have to admit there was a couple I thought you could win!
Parent - - By tomski1981 (****) [ca] Date 2011-10-08 17:30
i'm not proud of 10 draws, but i'm very proud of drawing my last game, and this other one. in both statistics seemed to indicate that i would lose (one of them had 9 wins 0 losses 0 draws for opponent!). so they feel like victories.

if there were any games that i could have won, they must have been at the beginning of the tournament, before my daughter was born... when she came into the world, i just didn't have the same amount of time i could use to analyze. instead, i used that time to change diapers :) (my analysis methods were very interactive with the computer early in the tournament, but i couldn't keep up the effort required)

anyhow, thanks for your support.. and thanks for the fantastic tournament you put together for us! hope you enjoyed it!

see.. i guessed wrong! lol.. i thought you would have tried to aim for an unbalanced position.. like rook + pawns vs 3 minor pieces and less pawns... Bf3 seemed to have been leading to that...

i actually think prefer Qg3.. at least for now. Maybe once i figure out what you're aiming for, i ....

.... as i'm writing this i'm checking deeper into this line. seems unclear.. i'm not convinced i can win... i wish i knew more about endings.. i don't know if the engines know enough to come out with a win

to tell you the truth, i never even considered it.. maybe i would have, but 35... Nc5 was solid enough. i checked the replies to it only, b4 was only thing that seemed to give me trouble, but i concluded i found a way through.. (we'll see what happens in reality, though).. so i had no reason to look further.

Though, I recon that if this position is lost, that I've been lost for several moves, let's see if things seem better tomorrow...
