i am doing my best to now get away from book lines which as far as i can see are now bsed on Rybka,Rybka may well be right but i am looking at other lines,so you will have to bare with me on this.after my next move it would be interesting to hear Nelsons opinion although i doubt he looks at this thread.

its oh so tempting to go for book recommended move 4...dxc4 esp at this early stage of game and i may yet play it.However you are aware i have many choices.i see the % on books i have and atm all favour move aformentioned.this is part of the fun even if i make a crazy move i have confidence behind it.

its strange,one well respected book does not even consider this move and it has a lot of playchess games in it.other books all give h6 as best move.maybe i have made a ruck but it seems ok to me.

it seems strange that in what i would consider virtual mainline that so few games have been played.maybe it was 5...Bd6.

Sure was.  That move is played less than 1% of the time.  Yet, it is the only move I have indicated as 'green' (playable) apart from 5...dxc4.  7...Re8 cinched it.  That's a 2% move.
