Does anyone want to play Evans with white? (With time control about 3 days on move.)
sure I love the evans I only have a single core i3 but I will play it. don't know if it will be any good vs rybka but I will give it a wirl
Then let's start! :)
OneSlyJoker - zaarcis
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Bc5 4.b4 Bxb4
// Rybka says ~30 kN/s (at high-school) and ~4 kN/s (at student hostel). So I suppose that I also have single core.

At the student hostel you have a single core with slurred speech and a bad limp!

Probably a Pentium 4, or is ~4 kN/s too high to assume it's a P4?

This was a favorite opening of mine many years ago and it seems to work out well it will be very interesting to see how it plays out on Rybka.

Alright, now we are out of book and the real leg work may begin.

Ok. :)
Not at all the move I anticipated you to make. Nor is it the 2nd or the 3rd best at least by my reckoning. Nevertheless I have still a considerable disadvantage to overcome and your move while not the best, is not a bad one. I once played the evans gambit with chessmaster 8K and won. (I limited its time to 40 min and played all week writing out analysis and trees.) It is amazing that rybka evaluates this to still be inferior as white. Perhaps Evans or whoever made this gambit was wrong.

Something went very wrong. Now I can take your queen by 9... Nxh5.

Answering to your question: just for fun - about ten years (including long pauses), seriously - imho never.

Mouse slip?
oh I see, I thought you had made a dire blunder. In fact it is me that has made the error. I thought the knight was on e7 which would put me ahead. I will re-evaluate. Darn IDeA it likes to go back and muck up the board. sorry for the error.

I thought the evans would have put me ahead positionally which it appears to have done. You have an extra pawn but it is doubled and I have a better center. Your king is exposed, but onthe plus side you may soon take over the only open file. My analysis is -.68 and it appears to only be going down from here, only time will tell if I can win. Actually here I am more concerned with avoiding the loss.

Ok, I will try to say smth clever too. I have freaking pawn majority on queen side vs two weak pawns. Imo, it's enough.
Now I will just make moves I (and Rybka) like and wait what happens.
Life sucks. Me hurted the dearest girl. Now don't know how to fix it. (Whining to strangers. Lol.)

I wish you had moved nf2. That would have been awesome for me. ;)
No doubt. :)
I figured out the correct answer almost instantly while the computer needed 43 minutes before it saw it. We humans do still have some advantages over the machine. Still think your advantage over me is enough Z? I am not convinced you will win this game.

I don't know what say computers (yours) but I was sure about this one your move almost immediately. Looks too good.
No, I'm not sure about my advantage now. I made a mistake somewhere in 10th to 13th move. Possibly in all of them. Sorry for my sloppy playing. Will not search for excuse.

Well it definitly isn't over yet for either of us, and no you aren't playing sloppy, the evans does give white extra tempo at the cost of a pawn and here I have a slightly better center, a safer king, and your knight and white bishop aren't as effective because of my pawn development. Nevertheless you are still ahead on material as the middle game dwindles. I have a single core i3. I am just obsessed with Rybka, exploring lines and trying ideas out. One idea I have tried against Rybka's bidding and it worked out. Machines aren't always right and humans aren't always wrong. ;) Good luck it is a tight game.

I had some happy days because I could use father's computer (which has about 100 kN/s usually with Rybka). Now have to go back to home and forget about normal speed.
Thanks, you too. :)
The most interesting part of game is still ahead.
