No 1...b6! from Banned For Life!?! Ye of little faith!
Please move this practice game out of the section for WBCCC. This is not a tournament game and should not be in this section. There is a section for correspondence games, so it should be moved to there.
Oh ok I moved it.
Can you stop with the ridiculous strictness? We're just trying to have fun here, stop taking yourself so seriously.

I'm not sure if Bd3 is a new move or not. But I didn't have it in my databases. This is an interesting setup by Alan. In my play I haven't seen a lot of these in cc play with Sicilian.

"These" = interesting setups or instances of this setup?
Well I have played against the Scheveningen before. But usually the b pawn will go to b5 in one shot. On the other hand, he has developed his bishop a lot more quickly. So it has some pluses and minuses. As always we give the fans a good show here. Now if we can play this game out before the next round. That maybe a different story.
I have played a major correspondence game on the black side of this before.
I'll say more soon, after a few moves, but I think that white missed a very good chance.

Well any insight will be nice. Bd3 looked new and seemed decent to me. It maybe possible I missed something..
What we all miss is Jason/Turbo playing in WBCCC... he can see moves way beyond
engine's or human's scope, for example the Rg1-idea which i discarded in my Sicilian...
Thankfully Alan joins it by next round, Jason, you still can too!

I think it has been several months now. Since Turbo played a match on the forum. You know even if it was just a team match. I would like to see his play at work. At least in a team match, he wouldn't have to bare all the work. But alas that even be a long shot.
I am a few moves a head now. What do you think I missed in Game 1?
It's still too early to say too much now, but as you can see, it probably would have been better if the bishop hadn't been developed to d3 on the 8th move--I think that quicker action was necessary, but since things could still somewhat go down those lines (with a tempo less for white), I can't say much yet.
I guess you are referring to white moving the bishop to c4 with the intent of sacking either the knight or the bishop on e6. I have looked at this pretty extensively and the resulting positions are generally unclear, rather than bad for black.
Since you need to get in b6-b5, I didn't consider Bd3-e2 that much of a waste. But one watching should know these are friendly game to get you ready to play in the tournament.
There's no such thing as a friendly game, but these are less important games. In any event, I did get to try out 7.d4, and you didn't have any problem finding a decent line.
Well I have to say 1.b3 is a stronger move that it looks. In fact your 7.d4 is a pretty good idea. Thought your maneuvers you got a decent looking colle setup. Usually in normal colle lines I would say it would be an easy equalize, but I'm still looking at my 11th move.

Five games left in book, 70% white.
White continued 11.a3. It's amazing that the Xfcc gui doesn't allow you to copy a fen. What the $%^&*( where they thinking???
Why the > $%^&*( do you say that? Mine does
Well, if mine did, I wouldn't have to come here to get the Fen...
It probably requires some obscure, top secret key combination.
Yes, this seems likely because there are so few pull down options, it's hard to believe I'm missing something.
We have the same version. Since you are new to WBCCC, you may have missed that XfccPlay was prepared for use in WBCCC in just a few days. Those days were used to separate XfccPlay from Aquarium, implement the Xfcc protocol for ChessPlanet and the communication with the forum, run test games and basically make sure that everything would work smoothly when the tournament started. I think that the results exceeded the expectations of everyone involved in the tournament at that time. However, due to limited time, some requests from the Ladies Bridge Club (which I believe you are a member of) were not implemented. The current method of copying FENs would probably make the members faint.
Don't get me wrong. I think the WBCC is great and the client does all the hard stuff well and is a real achievement given the time frame it was implemented in. But I would never, never, ever have found cntrl + the key to the left of 1. Who comes up with these short cuts? I guarantee you it was a software guy. Why not a pull down option that says "Copy FEN to Clipboard". I think there would be a LOT more interest in Aquarium if they had someone on staff who had a knack for the obvious...
> I think there would be a LOT more interest in Aquarium if they had someone on staff who had a knack for the obvious...
Or even someone who listens when people point out these things...
> Why not a pull down option that says "Copy FEN to Clipboard".
I thought I had already explained this:
1) Since XfccPlay was originally designed to communicate seamlessly with Aquarium there was no need to implement a copy/paste in XfccPlay itself. All analysis, copying/pasting etc. took place in Aquarium so these operations weren't needed in XfccPlay.
2) When creating the WBCCC version, adding copy/paste to XfccPlay was not considered a high-priority task for a successful WBCCC and therefore no time at all was spent on it.
3) If the time had allowed then OF COURSE copy/paste would have been implemented with Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V, with Copy/Paste buttons, with a right click menu or whatever. However, this was not done and therefore it isn't a part of XfccPlay.
I still want an alarm-bell/sound when a new move arrives...
OK, sorry for being dense. Anyway, now that I know the secret code for copying FEN, everything is wonderful!
If 11.a3 then only one game has been seen in this position between Vidal-Chaves, 2001, in a regional Brazilian tournament.
I'm surprised. This has transposed back to a position where I have quite a few games, but maybe they are all from book matches on my own machines.
I made both moves. I will post fen below.
Well! Proves that I don't have every game that has ever been played. But you could do your small part to amend that!
I don't particularly like this line. It's somewhat drawish.

Black has 38.0% and 33.2% draws here.
Nice to see you back "Admiral of chess-DBs", we already missed you...
For the record, black continued 12...Rc8 several days ago. I guess my opponent is too busy to continue.
On your DB results, it's not clear if you are giving black's win percentage or percentage of games won. I.e., do you mean that the percentages for white wins, draws, black wins are (28.8, 33.2, 38.0) if percent won, or (45.4, 33.2, 21.4) if win percentage.
