I read on a book, the name of the chess grandmaster Polish written like this: Saviely Tartakover.
As I read on Wikipedia: Savielly Tartakower.
What is the right name?
I would like to point out that I have noted these differences in writing the names of the countries of east Gm, several times, even on other GM. Both in this book, both in the database matches.
A reliable source of reference?

Almost everyone in English is going to call him Savielly Tartakower. If you look at openings that had his name on it. It will be Tartakower, you are right Saviely Tartakover was another way to speak of his name. What you may have missed is, that if you look closely at the Wiki source. Look at the top with his name in it. It said this

"Ksawery Tartakower (Russian Савелий Григорьевич Тартаковер, generally known as Saviely or Savielly Tartakower in English, less often Xavier Tartacover or Xavier Tartakover; 1887–1956) was a leading Polish and French chess Grandmaster. He was also a leading chess journalist of the 1920s and 30s"

The Russian would translate phonetically to "TARtuc-koevyer"

Better translation from russian name "Савелий" to english would be "Saviely". (strongly subjective, russian language a know very well, sometimes better than native :razz:

)
