Your new Rybka on this Cluster is the most scary thing I've ever seen playing chess.
Such a huge leap since the last event she played, incredible.
Parent - By suj (***) Date 2010-11-27 14:39
GG Big leap forward.Just to note Sjeng is running an old version from middle of this year.

For emphasis I must say it again -

Your new Rybka on this Cluster is the most scary thing I've ever seen playing chess.
Such a huge leap since the last event she played, incredible.

Great game Lukas - fantastic struggle, very interesting to watch, all the work you guys have done is really paying off

Yes, I think this was the toughest game so far. For quite some time I had doubts if being one pawn up would be enough for winning. But I think there's no reason to complain about the cluster's endgame play

p.s. the last pair of CPUs - 2x Xeon X5670 - arrived 5 minutes before the first game. So we had to play against Hansdamf with "only" 248 cores
Parent - By suj (***) Date 2010-11-27 15:26 Edited 2010-11-27 15:31
my comment to Hans via Timo was "am admiring rybka cluster's endgame play".

I think the real big move was nxd4 super human move. One word Impressive.

Anyone knows why sjeng always gets black vs rybka in tourneys?? Black vs Rybka, black vs  Hiarcs and am waiting for black vs shredder.

Excellent game and an impressive performance so far! If I am correct, Spark and Shredder are in 2nd place after this round, so it should be Spark - Rybka or Shredder - Rybka in round 6.

Next game will be Spark - Rybka - in a few minutes

10...Bxf6?! This is the Key why black Lost.
Much better for black is 10... Nxf6! 11. Ne5 h6 12. Bc1 c5 13. dxc5 Bxc5 14. Sxc4 =

Excuses, excuses

Your line is hardly convincing, very cooperative for black and most important: absolutely not forced.
Parent - - By suj (***) Date 2010-11-27 15:45 Edited 2010-11-27 15:47
No excuses here see what I said "Impressive".I also did not agree with Erdo on the line but you cant really book for everything and also Rybka was out the next move in book.

See my note below: Sjeng thought it was OK for a long time during the game, only sensing the danger too late.

For a long time Deep Sjeng thought it was OK in the game, while Rybka already showed a clear advantage. The 'ifs' and 'thens' do not count anymore, you lost the game and Sjeng was outplayed
Parent - By Jeroen (*****) [nl] Date 2010-11-27 20:06
I have found a nice edge for white after your 'improvement' 10... Nxf6, so you may repeat this line in the next tournament if you wish.
