Hello,
I've just recently purchased the fritz 12 chess software and I was trying to update to the latest version but when I hit the install button it says "GUI12 SP NOT INSTALLED".
I have rebooted system, disable anit-virus, re-installed program and still the GUI12 won't install. Really wierd because I didn't have this problem with fritz 11 GUI. I got the link for the download from the link that's posted in this forum. Any help on this i really appreciate it. Thanks.

did you installed the original F12 successfull from DVD? If yes you should first update with the updater from F12 itself not with a download package from a link.

Yes I did install the program successfully from the DVD. I also tried to update from the updater but no joy. I'm using windows 7 and didn't have a problem with fritz 11 update. Not sure what's going on. Any feedback would be appreciated.
you may also try to contact chessbase's support, I think they are the best address to solve such problems.
See in your PC-folder C:\Users\Frank\AppData\Local\ChessBase\Updates. Is there a file named "GUI12.exe" ("Frank"= your username)? After using the Updater there must be this file there.
Execute it. If not then you have to update F12 with the updater correctly.

Did you do a full or custom/minimum install of F12? I ask because I have had problems applying uogrades unless I have done the default install from the DVD.
Same bogus problem here. Running Win Xp 64. Did repair from the DVD and tried to install from on-line and from the program. No joy!! What is this stuff? disabled AV as well. I am really wizzed. Chessbase -grrrrrrrr.
