Does anybody know whether or not there is a better engine than Fritz Giveaway available? (There are some minor differences between suicide chess and giveaway chess, but in practice, it is perfectly reasonable to use FG on suicide chess.) I have searched and found something called KKF Chess (the last version of which, however, seems to be from about 2004), but I do not manage to use it on my computer. I believe suicide chess is a game that could be solved rather easily using brute force, as the level of complexity is much lower than in normal chess. A lot of openings have indeed already been solved: http://catalin.francu.com/nilatac/book.php?query=
I never looked into giveaway variants much, but have you tried Sjeng? I know Pulsar plays Suicide/Giveaway, but Pulsar is a rather weak engine in most variants I did try.
