Congrats Slumdog! Your result is currently giving the victory to the FICGS side. Maybe we can have a game in the future?

Can one of you guys please post a PGN of this game?.

No problem, i hope to play you again sometime soon?
Parent - By Kamesh (***) [in] Date 2010-08-31 16:34
Dear Mark,

Sure, I am open to challenges, but as i told to Vytron, i am just gonna be on break for about two weeks :)
Wud be a pleasure to play with you guys :)
- - By Kamesh (***) [in] Date 2010-08-31 09:09
Thanks Vryton and Mark,
Will surely look forward to having another shot.  As far as the team tour is concerned, it's better to talk to Thibault (FICGS)
It's been a pleasure to play here :)
Also currently, i am getting pissed off with too much corr. chess lol, the games never end, still 15 games are running, which I want to wind up ASAP :)

@ Fulcrum - I have to check for that and will try and make the game available for you\\

regards
Slumdog

Yeah, I meant to have an individual match, unrelated to the FICGS match, tell me when you have a free slot, or when you're no longer pissed off  so we can have a couple of friendly games.
Parent - - By Kamesh (***) [in] Date 2010-08-31 14:15
Vytron,

Oh yea, for sure.  But, i am planning to go off for about two weeks from chess.  (you might be knowing the circumstances as when the games started, i almost quit chess and i am now managing things, putting them in the right perspective:-o)
Btw, is it convenient for you to play at ficgs.com as there we got a custom chessboard so that we need not type out the moves and copying the position after each move?
and also we got time controls 30days+1 day increment and other stuff :)
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2010-08-31 14:29
I prefer the forum system since it allows commenting on the moves, and Rybka forum spectators, for instance, I don't think any member has put much attention on the FICGS Vs. Rybka Forum games that are being played at FICGS, but the games that were played on the forum had their fair share of comments (this game for instance contrasts with the game that ppipper won on time there, that nobody commented). Those benefits overcome the having to type the moves price, by far, and you don't need to copy and paste the FEN each move if you don't want to.

I also dislike putting time controls, I'd hate to lose a game on time, and beating you on time wouldn't mean anything. We just need to put a max expected average time per move (so that taking all move times into account at the end of the game, the number is below this limit), I'd suggest 24/48 avg hours/move like in your game against Mark.

But of course, since I'm the one interested in playing, you get to put the match conditions ;)
Parent - - By Kamesh (***) [in] Date 2010-08-31 14:40
Vytron,

I do not want to take advantage or put conditions for a match.  I would like to play the way my opponent likes and I always try to give the best.  I have no hesitation in playing games here :)  I see every point in what you said.  That's so damm true :)  We shall surely play!

But, not before two weeks, i am taking off from my corr. games too.    Hope you do not have any objection to that :)  As currently my "Pissed off" mode is active, lol.  Above all, i am just new to the Corr. Arena :)
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2010-08-31 14:58
Of course I have no objection, I'm already used to having to wait for my opponents to start a match, from a few days, to indeterminate time (like my match against Highendman that only god knows when will it start!), two weeks is very reasonable.

I've met people that were new to corr chess but very talented, I think this is a very creative mode of playing, where the more automated and dull analysis methods are at a disadvantage against ingenious ways of move choosing. So one can come and be really good from the get go, that's what got me hooked to corr chess (back when I started, I could only analyze a few minutes a day in a dinosaurian computer, and I was still decent, so eventually it turned into my main hobby).

Looking forward to our match, see you in 2 weeks!

Dear Vytron,

I am just a drop of an ocean in this field of Corr. Chess.  Already wondering if i had chosen the right path, that too when i am very much pre-occupied with my official duties.  It is taking its toll on me.  But for love of the game, i am pushing myself harder :)  I did not know what made you choose me for the game, but you already made me nervous, haha

I cannot wait for our match, but i need that break desperately, lol.  Especially from my opponents at FICGS, hehe

Regards,
Slum

I completely agree. There is only one thing I check on a daily basis on the Rybka forum nowerdays and that’s the correspondance games.

Dear Vytron,

I thought of having one more week's off.  But, somehow, I think we can start the game.
However, there is one important aspect which I would like to point out.  Though I try to make moves within the stipulated 48 hours, but with my official work and its commitments, I may not be able to make moves as per schedule.  I almost quit chess when my attention towards my family was getting minimal.  It's about balancing things.  Even during my game vs. Mark (thanks to him), i took time for about a week to move.  Hope you can understand.  Chess is just a hobby, but not my life :)
So, I regard my commitments while, at the same time, I try to do justice to the game as well.

So, let's begin the show!!!

Regards
