Hello

Can someone tell how much disk space it use.

I am think of buying the download version from chessok website.

The download file is around 1,3 GB, the extra space it uses may depend on which trees you already got installed, but after all it will be around 1,5 GB, too.

I have the Aquarium version of the opening book Rybka 4.

You should be aware that Aquarium cannot use this version to play chess.

I spent quite a few hours and conversations with Chess OK support

- only to be told:

"In current moment Book 4 can't be used for Play.
This bug will be fixed in next patch

Alexander Zhuravlev
ChessOK support team"

As far as I know, there has been no patch.

I'm not sure if that is true. For me the books seems to work fine for play. Maybe there are different versions?

I think ChessOk meant play against the computer. There is a reintroduced bug that makes it use narrowbook no matter what you specify.

aha, that could be true. I just checked once engine matches and some book was used, so I assumed everything is fine. Didn't check if the right book was used.

However, one could use the book adapter as workaround.

Interesting, on my version it plays out of book starting move 2 when Rybka4 book is specified. Could be multiple versions out there. I'm surprised they haven't been able to fix this in over a month.

Tried the workaround, but I can't unzip the zip file (winzip at least doesn't recognize it).

3 months after buying the book, I still can't use it.

Is someone here able to explain to ChessOK that once they've got my money, they need to deliver if they ever expect to see any more of my business?

well, I guess this will be fixed with the next version, but since it will be a major upgrade, it already took longer than expected. I would say you already get quite a bit with Aquarium (which costs just a few dollars). OK, there's a bug, but they fixed it even if the update takes quite some time. So besides the time they are using, everything is fine.

Don't know why you can't extract the book adapter, works fine for me.

Are you trying to play, human vs computer?  And try 7zip to unzip it, I didn't have any trouble.

This will be fixed in Aquarium 4.0.6 afaik.
