It's not computer chess if they're aided by humans.
That are not human chess if they are aided by programs :-)
The name of this subforum is chess not human chess.
:-) human is default, is not it ?

Get ready the same IP detectors! :)
Seriously, a Correspondence chess subforum was considered, it was scrapped because it would only have 6 threads, where 83.33% of them are mine* (i.e. if I wasn't playing we'd have only one thread going.)
So it comes out that the inactivity of the chess subforum can hold these few games just nicely, if they were at Computer Chess people might need to go to the second page to search for their game on a very active day.
The games are where they are because it's practical.
Now, if the Chess subforum became as active as Computer Chess, or we had 20 games going on, etc., I think moving them would be viable.
(*) OK, so that was not THE reason why it was scrapped, but that's a reason it'd be.

what do you suggest ? are you not a victim of conspiracy theories ? :-)
Thouse games are threads of 2 persons. The forum is designed to be the threads to everyone so the games do not fit to the subforum.
Do you think that everyone is interested in thouse games and want to see them on the top of the subforum all time ?
The results of the poll are that I expected. My vote is only one here.

No, they're also for spectators to comment on the games, otherwise we'd have them on a internet chess server outside of Rybka Forum altogether.
As for the 8 people that voted: are you serious that you want a new subforum for just 6 games that are ongoing without guarantee that new games would be created?

The answer is in other question, what the people do not want ? ;-)

Discussion is more useful than a poll, as things stand a valid argument would be more useful.
Discussion is more useful than a poll
I doubt. Not everyone has time for discussion but has the opinion and voting takes less time.

So why are there not more voters? Thread has 195 hits.
Why not more voters? My suspicion is that many, like me, don't have strong feelings about which forum should host these games.

And most of us really don't give a shit!

at the moment is 12 : 3 :-)
I AGREE WITH HETMAN !!!!
Yes, seriously :) - really!
What would happen if 500 users started playing correspondence chess in these forums?
There are correspondence chess servers, you can play your games there and when finished, post them here if you think they are of any interest.

THEN having a new computer chess subforum would be viable.

You're not being forced to show that you're uninterested :)
6 is not enough ?
I remember my holidays wishes on the main forum, it were 1 of a few. It was moved with the spark speed to the Flip-Side ;-)
I would expect similar reaction, we are equal !?

No, imagine they're over and nobody creates more, it's still not known if a new subforum would die and the threads would need to be merged back.
A hardware subforum was suggested, I think it proved to not be necessary.
A engine matches subforum was suggested, I don't see many people playing such matches.
An opening book testing was suggested, it'd be basically dead.
It took 6 months for The Flip Side's idea to be considered seriously, and it was only created to see if it'd work, and it did, but several people at the time were really annoyed by the offtopic discussions happening everywhere, I've yet to see several people annoyed by the Chess games happening at the Chess section.
I made a joke about Drama Llama and it was created to test user groups, and it works nicely because members don't seem eager to join the group just to continue with some flamewaresque threads. However that board is basically dead and I wouldn't mind much if it disappeared.
As for this one, it's not really needed, or wanted enough for people to make arguments in its favor.

Please note that personally I didn't support the moving of your threads (specially since the same kind of threads made by Harvey were not moved) but I only stated my opinion, don't expect moderators to start fighting by moving a thread back and forth, usually the first decision (in this case moving your threads) tends to stay.
May be Drama Llama is good place for that games.
That is an excellent idea to have a correspondence chess subforum!
showmethemoney, please look at the dates, you're reviving a 9 months old topic, and we already have such a forum anyway.
Sorry, I was just telling Hetman good job.

Was for Hetman's Notifications. Perhaps set something where threads need > 5 new posts to move up into current on boards.

Hetman isn't around anymore.
Okay.
I guess I scrolled down the page too far. I set my topic number to higher than default recently. Hetman might come back: this is only couple of months ago though: http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?pid=235696;hl=
> Hetman might come back
No, he's been taken care of. He won't cause further problems.
