Hi,

Rybka 2.3 has been cleared for release by Convekta now. Thanks everyone for your patience :)

A few quick comments:

1) Performance

My 1-CPU 64-bit match at TC of 1' + 1" between a beta version of 2.3 (not 100% identical to final version) and 2.2n2 finished: +351 =795 -264 (+21 Elo). The optimist in me wants to say that it's just a bad result. We will see.

2) Rybka 2.3 LK

International Master Larry Kaufman has come up with a pretty cool formulation of material values, and he's been refining it in the context of Rybka's eval for the past 6 weeks or so. It's elegant and has some nice properties. It also has a few soft spots. In the rush before the release, we could not really figure out if it performs better yet than the default, so both versions are included. I am quite sure that after a bit more work, we'll switch to this approach for Rybka 3.

One nice feature of this formulation is that Rybka 2.3 LK appears to be a much stronger opponent for humans in handicap games.

Hopefully, some testers will donate some CPU time to testing this version and helping us with the next steps here.

3) WinFinder 2.3

Sorry, this dropped off the schedule, I just couldn't get to it. There is still a chance that I'll make a version a bit later, but other things are coming up and I can't promise this.

Vas
