On the first game Rowlando surprised Vytron with 31...Re2!!, that decidedly turned the game into a draw (though it was probable a draw before.) On this one Rowlando gets winning chances as white. Let's remember Rowlando can use IDEA while Vytron cannot, and that Rowlando is running in significantly slower hardware.

A valuable lesson I learned from last game: It doesn't matter if your best move is 0.17 or 0.25, what matters is that it IS the top move! :yell:

Squeezing centi-pawn by centi-pawn didn't work on the last game because I missed the key move, I'll try to become more like Rowlando.

I've always been curious about Rybka's willingness to give up the light square bishop so easily in this opening.  Most Noteboom players will go to great lengths to avoid trading off such a powerful piece.  Rybka, on the other hand, doesn't hesitate to trade the bishop off and by all appearances it's something she believes very strongly because even a thorough distributed analysis is not sufficient to change her mind.  The apparent contradiction between Rybka and the conventional wisdom was a big factor in my decision to play the mainline.

When I'm playing the black side of the Noteboom I often have to overrule Rybka several times to keep the LSB in play.  Since this is the first time I've ever played the white side (1.e4!) I knew there was a good chance I'd have the opportunity to challenge Rybka's strategic assessment.  It goes without saying that I'd like to prove Rybka wrong but regardless of the outcome my hope is to play an instructive game that helps answer a nagging question concerning one of my favorite openings.

No, if you don't mind waiting a little (?) more for my moves I'll be able to play just fine (i.e. in one of my other games it's trivial to chose a move, and the other game can take the spot of my game against Vempele, so I'll be fine, this move has been delayed due to real life, not due to too many games.)

Just 0.01 better than Bxc6, though knowing you, probably the difference is much higher and I'm much worse than I think.

To have any realistic shot at winning, I think I needed 25...Qb5.  Looks like a draw.

I've got to admit that I only took a brief look at 25. d5, and dismissed it due to the small negative evaluation that seemed to stay, but I decided to not play 25...Qb5 before it happened.

Yes, this is a very complicated and interesting position! If it was reached in a game between two GMs I'm sure we would see a decisive result. I hope you will play on :)

I agree.  It is too interesting and too fraught with danger to stop now!  :-)

I had hoped the complexity of the position would prevent IA from unlocking the Rac8 wonder move but it wasn't to be....

Well, after I realized my old analysis method was really bad at defending seemingly lost positions (see my game against Jonas) and led to self refutations when several moves were close (just a kind of refuting the best moves and bringing all moves to the same evaluation, then not being able anymore to see which one is better) I'm trying something new (to me) with Persistent Hash, it seems sound enough that I don't think you'll be able to defeat me, but it'd be great if I can do it, so I agree, that we should keep draw offers out of our minds for the moment :)

I think the only GM in the world that would feel at home in this position is Moro.
Looking at this position without an engine I feel after 30 seconds of thought lost at sea without a map :)

I don't know, but I noticed that in the other 2 "playable" lines one misstep and I was dead :), no reason to go there assuming you'd not miss anything, hopefully this line isn't like that.
