Topic Rybka Support & Discussion / Rybka Discussion / "Max number of processors" settiing: physical or logical ?
With "Hyperthreading", Intel' s chips (say Core i7) have two logical processors per physical core, as you know.
Does the "Max number of processors" setting pertain to physical cores or logical processors ?
Thanks,
Alan

Rybka unfortunately makes no difference between a 'real' and a virtual core.

You usas fritz? You use deep rybka better
he uses the fritz interface. It's mainly because of playchess I guess.

Not your Rybka, but your utility program to set the correct affinities ;-)
I hope Rybka 4 will do this without external help ;)
Me too, if anyone can push Vas in the right direction, it's you.
With option to use the virtual cores too! :-)
Vas is a chess engine programmer and not a hardware guru. Maybe in future it will be nice to use (some?) virtual cores too! But I admit, it should be standard to use only the "real" cores!

I'd rather have the option. When you are analyzing you can run 4x4 with 2 engines.
