Ok, thanks, it wasn't clear to me how much improvement was needed to catch her, I think Deep Fritz 11 on single CPU might be able to do it.

Isn't that 4-CPU-Rybka_2.2n2 a commercial product?
AFAIK only the one-CPU-Version is free. My delusion?
Quap
No. In fact the mp versions are free, 32 and 64 bits
http://www.rybkachess.com/index.php?auswahl=Demo+version
Many (engine developers :)) could think that Vas should have only released for free the 32 and single core version, but that was not the case
The result is that Rybka 2.2n is free and stronger than the commercial ones, except Rybka 3, of course. Cristhophe Theron for example was not very happy with this

No, it's MP version.
I have been testing Rybka 2.2n2 64-bit 4CPU against a Rybka 2.3.2a SP. I just wanted to see the outcome. It kills Rybka 2.3.2a SP. I know it's not a fair test, I just wanted to see the outcome.

Since the terminus for Rybka 3 mp is just "Rybka 3" ad the other version is "Rybka 3 1 cpu", I decided to write just Rybka 2.2n2 on that download page . but indeed it's the mp version.
Thanx (also to Filipov and Debaser)
Respect! You give a very fine engine for free!

nasty of Vas,was't it.the free engine being better than any commercial, except Zappa on Skulltrail
if i remember correctly, 2.2n2 was a very solid and nearly bugfree version of rybka. wasn't 2.2n2 the fall back version for several tourneys, when things went awry with 2.3? makes perfect sense that it would be the free version, also very generous of Vas to let people have the mp version.
It's very awesome! I wonder if Vas will make Rybka 2.3.2 a free version after Rybka 4 comes out! (A cool thought) ;)

It would be even more cool if it is the MP version, I only have the SP version :)
Its only annoyance was the fact that it never reported tb usage, when tablebases were actually used.

Really? Hmm, didn't notice that. I noticed that the tablebase are not accessed by default.
Yes, in engine pane, you see everything as usual (51. Bxd3 ... ..., -0.03, Depth 25, 1662927 kN) and the "tb=1456" part was missing.
Thanks for the info, I didn't notice that. Will check when I get home.
It accesses the tablebases, only the display of the tbs. access numbers is missing in the output. It is mentioned in the readme notes somewhere, at rybkachess.com. For me, it is a great supplement, or extension for my (single) Rybka 232a. Usually, I switch to 2.2n2 for endgame analysis (and for kibitzing during endgames).
Thanks for this very good free engine. - It is understandable if the competitors are not amused. :-p
