I though it would be very interesting to create a new decipline in chess. Maybe, its time to have the first (unofficial) world champion in playing chess computers!

As it stands Milov must already be a hot favorite. The champion ship could involve play against a number of different top engines under a number of different conditions.  As qualification, one could have regional championships.

Maybe such a compatition could attract some investors and some very strong super GMs!!  The prestige of being "world champion in playing chess computers" might help attract some very good players we otherwise would not have a chance to see play.

What do you think?

I like the idea. For one, I think someone specialized in playing against computers will perform better against them than the top 10 humans, or the top 100 humans, just because you need a very different approach to the game than against other humans. Possibly, even someone that never plays other humans would be able to have a good performance if he doesn't get the theoretical bad habits that top grandmasters have because they played humans (i.e. they have to change their style to play against computer and some are incapable of doing so.)

Playing against computers is a matter of playing the opponent, not the board.

Another advantage is that a lot of people can participate at the same time. In the introductory round all over the world chess players who participate each play a number of games against a number of different programs on similar hardware. The winners the qualify to the next round. Top players (e.g. GMs and IMs) should automatically qualify to some of the later rounds.

In my view human (strong GM)  versus computer often are extremely instructive and teach us something about the game. I found for example most of Milov's games against R3 extremely instructive.

Sounds like a video game contest, I hope you can organize it.

I didn't like the fact that most of the games were with handicap, specially since the GM was able to draw without them.

I think this is an excellent idea; I can see many benefits including those you have already mentioned.  All we need ow is a sponsor!
