Any idea of when it will be out?  I know Vas said soon but just wondering if soon meant a week or 2 weeks?

He said at the end of this month.

Since they reverted back to Rybka 2.2n2 in the tournament I suspect it will be a while.

Where was this mentioned about reverting back to 2.2n2? I must of missed it.

That's my thought, too...

Hi DamirD81,

Vas, to my knowledge, has not set a release date for Rybka 2.3.2- However, with that said-he did indicate it would be soon.

Of course, soon for one person is not necessarily soon for another. I think soon can be anytime from next week to over a month. But, it's better for him not to give release dates. Who knows what will come up. Rushing the last version in the 2.x series is not a good idea.

Hi exigentsky,

I agree. Honestly, though I think it will be soon, when you read what he says-it sounds like he's close-for example:

" I feel now really good about 2.3.2. It will really be out soon. The bottom line is, 2.3 and 2.3.1 had some good ideas but were not good releases, too many things went wrong. I just don't want that to linger for many months while Rybka 3 is being prepared."

I'm not giving dates here, but some external dates are coming up and they are in my mind.

One is the freestyle, June 1. The second is the WCCC, June 11.

Solid, stable, strong versions for those tournaments sure would be nice.

Vas,

Great! Now we are going to have every forum member who is diagnosised with DSM: 296, checking on the hour for an update; and, anyone diagnosised 296.4, starting threads on June 1 (actually, probably, starting right now) with rapid cycling from hypomanic to full blown hypermanic episodes right up until June 11th. While yet others, who normally function on that level, going into psychotic features writing threads with satanic prose. Nelson's worst nightmare come true. Let the games begin.

Other than that- I am cool with it-God, I am more looking forward to Rybka 3- I stopped buying laundry detergent and other little things to keep on truckin.

Regards,

It´s almost summer time in the northern hemishpere. Don´t we have other things to do than wait for another 20 Elo better Rybka, that does beat the hell out of us now needing even two moves less for that?

Hi Mike,

I just got back from a mile and a half jaunt- not a big jaunt by some standards, but it got my  blood going.

Well, Mike, one positive statement ending with a negative-not bad. Keep plugging at it.

Maybe people want what they paid for!!! Ever think of it that way?  Again maybe one Rybka will come out in the furture that don't have as many bugs or who knows we can wait another 6 months to improve a unstable engine!

Sid, your easy familiarity with the medical terminology associated with bipolar disorder is striking.  I suspect this illness is very common among computer chess enthusiasts, as well as obsessive-compulsive disorder.  Well, anyway now that we have some dates let the full-blown mania episodes begin!!

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Toil, and grow rich,
What's that but to lie
With a foul witch
And after, drained dry,
To be brought
To the chamber where
Lies one long sought
With despair?

I was going to recite the beginning of "Howl" for Mike, but I thought that would be to much. Think of it..

" I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness,
starving hysterical naked,..."

You know, anytime Jessica(wo/man?) starts in he could fly into Ginsbergs "HOWL."
